Ettore Germano Barolo Cerretta is crafted from Nebbiolo grapes from the Cerretta vineyard in Serralunga d'Alba, Piedmont, Italy. Situated at approximately 350 to 400 meters with south-to-southeast exposure, the vineyard's calcareous limestone and clay soils provide an ideal terroir for Nebbiolo grapes. This vintage experienced a cool and humid start, followed by warmer conditions, resulting in balanced fruit. Grapes are hand-harvested in mid-October, de-stemmed, and lightly crushed. Fermentation occurs in vertical steel tanks with a maceration period of 40 to 45 days, involving daily pump-overs and occasional délestage to enhance extraction. Post-fermentation, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and ages 18 to 24 months in medium-sized oak barrels of varying ages, followed by an additional 12 months in the bottle before release.
